In Nursery, we have had a fantastic start to the Summer term. Our new friends have settled in and we have loved being back together! 🙂
Reception have had a brilliant last day of term.
Last night, we planted magic beans in our trays and when we returned to school this morning, the Easter Bunny had swapped them for chocolate eggs! We also tasted hot cross buns and went on a special Easter egg hunt. Green Team found the most eggs with a grand total of 54. Well done Green Team!
Have a lovely Easter holiday!
Reception worked so hard on their egg designs today. We can’t wait to find out who will win tomorrow!
EYFS have had a great day celebrating the Hindu festival of ‘Holi’. As Holi is the festival of colour, we listened to the story, made rainbow toast and created our own art.
Foundation Stage have had a brilliant time celebrating ‘Red Nose Day’! We took part in lots of fun activities and had lots of crazy hair too!
This week, Nursery have been exploring different ways to represent number.
One group went on a Wildlife Safari to see how many animals they could find. Whenever we saw a an animal we made a tally mark on our chart.
The other group were learning while making a sticky mess! We had lots of fun making different marks in the shaving foam and trying to match our pictures to numbers e.g. Can you make 3 circles in the foam?
So that nobody missed out on the number fun, we swapped activities later in the week.
Foundation Stage have been learning about St Patrick’s Day today. We started the morning by learning all about St Patrick and looked for Ireland on a map. We then watched a special video all about St Patrick’s Day and Charlie suggested that we all make an enormous shamrock, like the one in the video! As we found out that green is a lucky colour, we used lots of materials to create our very own shamrock. Finally, we watched clips from ‘Riverdance’ and got to do our very own Irish dancing in the hall. Some of the moves were very fast but we had lots of fun!
