The importance of Religious Education is valued and carefully considered at Marsden Primary School. Our motto of “Everyone Cares, Everyone Matters” is at the heart of everything we do. We want to ensure our pupils have an awareness and understanding of the beliefs and cultures within and beyond their community. We endeavour to equip them with the essential skills which will support their enquiry and response to significant questions posed by religion and worldviews. RE is fundamental to understanding, appreciating and responding to the world in which we live. It is therefore a subject which is essential to pupils beyond their time at school as they navigate their own lives and encounter beliefs and ways of living which are different from their own. As a school, we aim to provide the opportunity for children to learn from and about their own and other cultures, respect diversity, cooperate with one another and appreciate and celebrate differences thus providing them with a strong moral compass and cultural capital.
