It was so lovely to have so many family and friends come along to our very first Poetry Showcase!

Boom! Cheese and Jam Sandwiches!

14th March 2025M Hanratty

Year 5 have just started to read our new book Boom! The story begins with the main character enjoying a sandwich, red Leicester and gooseberry jam. They share that their favourite sandwich is cheddar and strawberry jam sandwiches which we thought was a rather peculiar pairing.  So we put them to the test and had a little taste! A big thumbs up for some and a big thumbs down from others.

Y2- The day the pencils quit!

12th March 2025S Stothard

Year 2 made a shocking discovery this morning. They found a letter explaining the pencils had gone on strike! All of the pencils had disappeared from the classroom because they were unhappy with how they were being treated. The children have written letters to the pencils asking them to return and promising they were take better care of them.

7th March 2025S Hume

We had a lovely day celebrating World Book Day in Year 1. We took part in a name the story quiz, made some brilliant book marks and after we got our special books at the World Book Day stall, we decided to read them ‘our own way’ – it was really comfortable!

Y2 World Book Day

7th March 2025S Stothard

Year 2 had a brilliant time celebrating World Book Day today. Everybody looked fantastic! As a school we are looking at the book The Lost Words and Year 2 are creating our own Daffodil poems. Today we used oil pastels to create our own daffodil to go alongside our poems. We also had lots of other reading fun and games!
