At Marsden Primary School we believe that all children’s learning and experiences contributes to their Personal Development and we will take every opportunity to positively enhance every child’s Personal, Social, Health and Emotional Development. We strongly believe that Personal Social Health Education (PSHE) including Relationships Sex Education (RSE) is at the heart of our school values and ethos and runs throughout all that we do, reflecting the needs of our children and our school’s local context.
Our PSHE/ RSE curriculum aims to enable our children to become healthy, safe, independent, responsible members of society who demonstrate respect and tolerance.
To meet our aims, we strive to give our children the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to effectively navigate the complexities of life in the 21st Century. Our curriculum covers key areas which will support our children to make informed choices now and in the future around:
• Physical and mental health.
• Safety and wellbeing,
• Family, friends and relationships
• Financial and economic well- being, including personal goals and aspirations
• Positive contributions to the wider community (citizenship)
