Year 1 children loved showing their grown-ups all their fabulous work at our open afternoon. It was lovely to see how proud everyone was!
Thank you to Y1 who shared with us a fabulous, informative assembly all about lighthouses.
Year one children had a very interesting and informative visit from Martin from the RNLI. He helped us know more about Grace Darling and we even re-enacted her famous rescue! He also told us all about the special work the RNLI do. It was brilliant!
Congratulations Yellow House!
Year 1 had a brilliant visit to Souter Lighthouse. We found out lots of interesting facts about the lighthouse and we climbed right to the top to see the light!
Year 1 had a fantastic opportunity to share some time with the author Huw Aaron as he shared his new book Monkeypig with us. He read us the story, told us where he got his ideas for the story from and he even helped us learn how to draw some of the characters from the story. We loved the story because it was very funny and I think we did an amazing job at drawing the monkeypig Molly! We are now looking forward to reading the story ourselves in class in our book area.
Well done to the Easter egg raffle winners in Year 1.
Year 1 have been learning all about the Easter story in RE and they made their very own Easter garden to represent this special Christian story. We put cress seeds on the soil and we will watch this grow over the Easter holidays when we take them home.
Year 1 had amazing success with our planted sunflower seeds. Everyone got to take their sunflower seedlings home to continue growing them. We can’t wait to see the flowers when they are fully grown.
