Ahoy there!
The Foundation Stage children had a great time at their pirate and princess party. Here are a few pictures of the day.
To mark the end of the Year 6’s time at Marsden, the staff came together to show them what teachers really get up to when the school bell rings!
We hope they enjoyed the video and wish them all every success in their future at Whitburn Academy.
Today the Year 6 put on an excellent Leavers Assembly to mark the end of their time at Marsden. There were a few tears shed and lots of laughter. We celebrated your talents as footballers, netball players and most importantly as people.
The annual Deputy Head Award went to Deacon Mackie and the Head Teacher Award went to Sophie Sutton. Very deserving winners!
Well Done Year 6, we will miss you so much!

WELL DONE
Wow, what a year! I’m sure you’ll agree that TT Rockstars has had a huge impact on the children’s knowledge of multiplication and division facts. The children have been competitive and enthusiastic and staff can now see the results of their hard work.
These children have worked hard throughout the year to improve their speed and accuracy. Well done to:
Fastest Speed: Connie, Federico, Jack, Liam, Melissa and Sophie
Highest Earners: Jayden, Lucas, Callum, Daisy, Elizabeth and Deacon
Most Improved: Tommy, Daniel, Evie, Ruby, Ella and Adam

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual ‘Open Afternoon’ on Wednesday. It was lovely to see so many of you in our school.
The children were so excited to show off their hard work and I’m sure you will agree that everyone has worked so hard!
Well done everyone!
On Thursday 12th and Friday 13th July, the Year Six children attended their new secondary school to see what life there would be like in the next academic year.
Meanwhile, back at Marsden School, each class moved up for a taster of their new class. A lot of nervous and excited children came into school on Thursday morning but fears and worries were soon put at rest when they entered their future classrooms.
Year five talked about their successes of the past year and their hopes for the future; then they wrote a letter to Mrs Watson who will be their new teacher in Year Six.
Here they are hard at work composing the letter and trying to make a good impression. We are confident that they will do very well in the coming year.
Today was the Year 4 class assembly. The children performed ‘Awful Auntie’ by David Walliams.
All of the children spoke clearly and demonstrated brilliant acting skills! Well Done Year 4!
Take a look at the pictures!
On Monday 9th July, Year 6 children along with Mr and Mrs O’Brien cycled to the sea-front at South Shields and back in an event organised by the local community police.
Children from Whitburn Primary also took part and around 90 children cycled in a line along the cycle route to Minchella’s for an ice-cream.
Mr. Roberts (Cery’s Dad) came along too and, with the police and teachers he helped to make sure that the children got there and back safely.
Here is the video of our amazing children from the Foundation Stage assembly.
I’d like to take this opportunity to say how proud the children make us everyday. They may be small but they have big personalities. They have changed so much and are now ready for the the next chapter of their story.
Get your tissues ready! 😭
