Well done to our first Spelling Shed winners of the year. They have amazed us with their super skills, earning the most points across their year groups this week.

Yet again, the Buddies continue to support the younger children’s play skills at Marsden. This year, we have seen the largest number of Year 5 children step up to be superb role models and, together with the Year 6 Buddies, they are making playtimes more enjoyable.

This week in challenge time, the Nursery children have been exploring colour mixing outside using powder paints to create their own fireworks. We used a variety of brushes to mix the colours together which helps to develop our dexterity and manipulation skills.
We had a fantastic time!
Yesterday in Year 1 we had a great time making pumpkin soup. Today we wrote instructions to help others make our delicious soup.
Here is our recipe:
Pumpkin Soup
- First heat the olive oil in the pan.
- Secondly peel and chop the onion then add it to the pan.
- Next chop the pumpkin then put the it in the pan.
- Crumble in the stock cube.
- Add in 750ml of water.
- Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Slowly pour in the cream.
- Finally blend it all together until it is smooth.
- Enjoy!

In Nursery, one of our favourite activities is “Squiggle While You Wiggle”.
Squiggle While You Wiggle is a kinaesthetic approach to stimulate early writing. Children use movement with music to develop their motor skills in preparation for writing.

EYFS has been magically transformed into Spooky School.
We have been exploring pumpkins with tools, brewing up potions to turn poor Mrs Elliott into a frog, changed ourselves into witches, wizards and vampires in the role play area and many more spooktacular activities.
Everyone had a fantastic time at the Halloween Disco.
