Well done to everyone who joined us for ‘Wake up and shake up’ this week. Key Stage Two started our ‘Healthy Living Week’ by exercising before school on Monday morning with Miss Fyall. Foundation Stage and Key Stage One then continued to work hard during their ‘Wake up and shake up’ on Tuesday morning with Miss Edwards, Ms Gilbert and Mrs Hanratty. A special mention also goes to our fantastic kitchen staff who came to join in the fun too. Well done everyone! Don’t forget to join us for our ‘Bike it breakfast’ on Friday morning.
Year One had a fantastic time on our visit to Tesco for the ‘Farm to Fork’ trail. We went on a rainbow fruit and vegetable hunt throughout the store, tasted freshly baked tiger bread and also got to experience how cold the freezers were; it was -21 degrees inside! We had a brilliant time and we loved learning about why it is important to be healthy. Thank you Tesco!
On Friday our Year 2 children completed an amazing assembly for the whole school and parents. They have spent the last term finding out about the rainforest and shared all of their work.
Please click here to see the presentation of their work.
This term, Year One are going to be learning about ‘The Great Outdoors’. Over the Easter holidays, the children were asked to create something relating to our new topic. I am so impressed by all of the fantastic homework that has been brought in, as it is clear to see that everyone has tried very hard. The children’s homework is currently on display in our classroom. Well done Year One!
On Tuesday the whole school discovered muscles they did not know they had when Ant Clennan brought his Hiit2OH programme into school.
From the pupils to the teachers everybody had an amazing day and can’t wait to use the programme again in their PE lessons.
Have a look at the videos and photos below to see how much fun we had.
In Year 2 we have become masters of chocolate.
We’ve found out where it comes from and how it was first discovered.
After exploring how chocolate is made today, and reading some of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, we decided to design our own chocolate bars.
The designs were amazing and the children were very inventive so we decided, as a class, to make the best three chocolate bar designs.
We all worked together to create the spectacular chocolate slabs and they tasted delicious!
All the children have been so excited to watch our chicks hatch.
We have 10 chicks to care for now!

We had some very interesting visitors in Year 2. Rob, from ZooLab, brought his rainforest animals into school so we could find out more about them.
We enjoyed handling the different animals and we found out some interesting facts about them!
Year 2 have been busy designing and making their own animal puppets.
I think you’ll agree we have super sewing skills!
We have used these puppets to tell stories in class.
The children looked amazing dressed as book characters on World Book Day.
We began the day by reading some of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory story
In the afternoon, we became authors, illustrators and publishers through making our own books.
During the day, we loved sharing our favourite books with Year 6 children, as well as reading our own made books to Year 1.
