As part of our ‘Once Upon a Time’ topic Year One had lots of fun learning about the story ‘When The Dragons Came’ by Naomi Kefford and Lynne Moore. The children chose to learn about this book and we were very busy designing our own front covers and making our own dragons. We also got to share our favourite stories with our Year Five buddies. The whole day was fantastic and we can’t wait for next year!
Nursery, Reception and Year One have been working hard to develop their bike riding skills over the past four weeks. Everyone has tried their best, learnt lots of new skills and had lots of fun in the process. Well done everyone!
Year One’s retelling of ‘The Great Fire of London’ was fantastic this morning! The children have worked so hard and have learnt so much during our History topic this half term. Well done everyone!
Year One are very concerned about the whereabouts of the Big, Bad Wolf. He was last spotted in our storytelling area, however there have been possible sightings throughout school and outside. Year One are currently looking for any clues as to where he could be hiding. If you find him, please let Year One know immediately.
PC Andy came into school this week to present our KS 1 and 2 children with their citizenship awards.
KS 1 winner was Rosie for her caring and friendly attitude in school.
KS 2 winner was Alistair for his overall approach to school and his attitude to everything.
Well done
Year One have had an excellent ‘Polar Express’ day to mark the end of our Christmas story. We all arrived at school in our pajamas and took a journey down the train track to our Polar Express classroom. In English we made reindeer dust and in maths we solved ‘Polar problems’. We then arrived back at our classroom after dinner to find a golden Polar Express ticket in each of our trays. We finished the afternoon by watching the film, whilst drinking chocolate milk and eating marshmallows. We have had a wonderful day!
Year One and Year Two had an excellent afternoon on Friday for their Christmas party. We had lots of fun dancing, playing party games and we were even lucky enough to have a very special visitor!
Well done to all of Key Stage One who put on a fantastic performance on Thursday morning. I’m sure you will agree that the children all worked so hard and sang beautifully throughout the show. Well done everyone!
Today saw the last collecting day for our GIFT FOR GRANNY appeal.
This was a new venture this year and one which I have been over whelmed by. As a community, our parents always support the school and every charity we ask, however despite this being a time of the years when so many other things are happening, we have had an outstanding reponse to this charity.
Tonight the gifts have been collected and I can only imagine how many lives the presents will brighten during this festive season.
Thanks you so much.

Our School Council help to pack the gifts.
