Last week Year 1 visited Temple Park and took part in a Multi skills Festival. The children were exceptional and had a brilliant time!

Year One have been learning about our local area. This week we looked at our address’ and how letters get delivered. Each child has a special letter and are excited to see how long it takes arrive at home.

In Year One we had great fun decorating our classroom this afternoon.
We made paper chains and snowflakes too!
Our children have their first Christmas booking today…we will be in the Old Monument singing our Christmas songs.
Today the school council visited South Shields Town Hall to visit the Mayor and Mayoress. We had a brilliant time exploring the beautiful building and even got to see the council chambers and the parlor. We had lots of interesting questions and found out lots.
There might even be some future MP’s or Councillors among us.
Today Year One went on a walk around our village to explore the local area. We looked at different types of housing and jobs in our local area. We wrapped up warm to go on our walk and had a brilliant time!
A huge well done to everyone for their kind generosity today. Our grand total was £427.15 which we will donate to Children in Need. The highest amount ever from Marsden! The children had a brilliant day and completed Pudsey activities in class and took part in Joe Wick’s ‘Big Move Event’

Yesterday in Year 1 we had a great time making pumpkin soup. Today we wrote instructions to help others make our delicious soup.
Here is our recipe:
Pumpkin Soup
- First heat the olive oil in the pan.
- Secondly peel and chop the onion then add it to the pan.
- Next chop the pumpkin then put the it in the pan.
- Crumble in the stock cube.
- Add in 750ml of water.
- Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Slowly pour in the cream.
- Finally blend it all together until it is smooth.
- Enjoy!
