Year 1 enjoyed finding and comparing different types of leaves we found outside as part of our science topic. We could identify the three main parts of a leaf on our rubbings.
Reception and Year 3 had a fantastic morning gutting fish and investigating the features of them. We used knives to dissect the fish and find the skeletons inside – we were all brilliant fishmongers! We also made clay fish, drew fish and labeled each of the features including a sentence explaining their purpose. We all had a brilliant morning – Well done everyone!
Year 1 are investigating how much rainfall we get in spring. We had fun designing and making our own rain gauges yesterday. We worked really hard as a team and we are super excited to start measuring!
EYFS had a great time investigating what happens to chocolate when it warms up. We added some shredded wheat to the melted chocolate and counted out three little “eggs” to put in our nests.
EYFS thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the Spring Time animals with Rob from Zoo Lab. We learnt all about animal hibernation and even got to hold all of the animals.
EYFS had an out of this world experience in the Wonderdome! We found out all about the planets, the solar system and the sun.
Year One investigated how we hear sounds. We explored sound waves by feeling the vibrations through string.
In science, Year 5 have been learning about different materials. We made oobleck which we found out is a very unusual material!
Y6 had a fantastic day at The Great North Museum exploring evolution and adaption.
In Year 3, we always make sure that we look after ourselves and try to make healthy choices. We loved making our own fruit kebabs as a healthy treat!
