As part of their Sports Leaders role, our Y6 children were given the opportunity to plan and deliver an extra-curricular club. Year 3 had an amazing first session playing ‘Stuck in the Mud’, ‘Dodgeball’ and then cooling down with some relaxing stretches. We definitely have some aspiring leaders in Y6!
Well done to Year Four who won the Marsden’s World Cup competition with Argentina!
For their prize, the children voted to have a movie/ art morning with lots of snacks.
We wish we could do this every day!
Year 1 had a fantastic time at Temple Park participating in a Multiskills festival. The children beautifully represented Marsden School and most importantly had so much fun! Well done! 🙂
We’ve had an excellent day celebrating the start of the Men’s World Cup 2022. This morning, we participated in a whole-school penalty shoot out against our Year 6 Sports Leaders. Then, this afternoon EYFS and Key Stage One participated in football crafts whilst watching the football and Key Stage Two chose between crafts, sports and watching the game.
Today, we all took part in Run Pudsey which raises money for Children in Need. Each class had time in the hall to complete their sponsored sporting events. All of the children had a great time and loved raising money for such a brilliant cause. We also took part in Pudsey themed activities in class.
Well done to school council for organising the games and selling cakes!

We launched our celebrations for the Men’s World Cup 2022 by carrying out our whole-school sweepstake. Each class has four teams and will make flags to celebrate their countries. Our amazing Year 6 Sports Leaders are then going to create a display to showcase our work.
The results are:
Nursery – Senegal, Australia, Uruguay and Qatar.
Reception – United States of America, Belgium, England and Portugal.
Year One – Wales, Saudi Arabia, Ghana and Germany.
Year Two – Netherlands, Serbia, Morocco and Costa Rica.
Year Three – Croatia, Switzerland, France and Ecuador.
Year Four – South Korea, Poland, Argentina and Mexico.

Thank you so much to Steve, Miles and Lewis from South Shields Football Club for joining us for a special assembly this morning. They came to talk to us about their game on Saturday, where twelve lucky Marsden pupils will be invited onto the pitch as part of their opening ceremony. We also got to ask them some amazing questions too!

Well done to our Year 5 footballers for their amazing teamwork and determination during yesterday’s football matches. It was some of our players first ever match as our Year 6 players were out of school for the day. The team were absolutely amazing and we can’t wait to see what they can achieve this year!
EYFS had a lovely time taking part in our little movers dance week. They all brought their best moves and showed us just how good they really all are at dancing. Well done EYFS!
As part of our PE curriculum, we organised a special ‘Dance Week’ to extend and enhance our dance knowledge and skills. Each class had a different theme, linked to their curriculum, and we worked individually, in pairs and in small groups to create and perform our own dance routines.
