Years 5 and 6 headed to the coast this week to take part in the Great North Run Fit for the Finish event. The children participated in a 1.4km run and were rewarded with a special appearance from none other than Sir Mo Farah! Despite it being his last professional race, Sir Mo took the time to warm up with the children, share some running tips and then take some questions from the children once they were all done. We had a fabulous morning. Well done everyone!
To celebrate the opening of the new coastal path in September, Creative Seed have worked with all our children to rehearse an amazing carnival dance.
The children have been encouraged to attend the parade and join in the dances – once we know more specific information we will be sure to let you know!
What an exciting afternoon Y4 had! We enjoyed our first taste of orienteering in South Marine Park. We put our map reading skills to the test as we followed the course looking for the markers. On route, we were challenged to complete some problem solving activities which involved lots of team work. We managed to avoid the rain and had a fantastic time. It was a big hit!
Sports Day 2023
Congratulations to our winning team, Green Team!
A huge well done to everyone who took part!
Congratulations to our Y4 children who completed their one day Bikeability course!
This month saw the conclusion of both the boys’ and girls’ football leagues. Both teams have represented our school brilliantly and have demonstrated great sportsmanship throughout the league games. We are very proud of our strong finishing positions in both leagues and hope to build on our successes next season. Well done to everyone who has participated.
On Wednesday 8th March we celebrated the biggest girls’ football event by inviting all of the KS2 girls to a football training session. It was great to see some new faces come along to training and want to get involved in the sport. Well done girls!
Following our winter break, the Y6 boys were back in action last night. They were really excited to get going again but had a tough 3 fixtures on the night. It was a mixed bag of results with the boys adding a win, loss and draw to our results so far this season. With one round of fixtures left, we are looking forward to seeing how high up the league we can finish!
The Girls’ Football CVL competition was back up and running this week. Our girls performed brilliantly securing 2 wins and 2 draws over the course of the morning. Everyone was so excited to restart the season but it was extra special because we had our new kits to show off. How smart does everyone look? Well done girls for once again representing our school so well.
Our Sports Leaders received their special leader packs today. I’m sure you’ll agree that they look fabulous!
For this week’s club, Year 6 planned and delivered a session of Bench Ball for Year 3 and it went down brilliantly. Well done to Lucy, Rosie, Daniel and Marcus who received house points for their fantastic leadership and team skills too.
