Nursery Writing Superstars

By M Hanratty27th January 2017

This week Nursery have been learning about the story behind Chinese New Year, “The Great Race”.

We made a list of some of the animals in the race and I could not be prouder of the children and their process in mark making.

Here is a selection from Anais, Dylan, Alice, Georgie, Layla and Olivia. Well done everyone!

By M Hanratty13th December 2016

What an amazing day the Foundation Stage Children have had today!

We have been lucky enough to visit Santa in his workshop. We were given tests to become special elf helpers including delivering presents, making decorations and bird feeders whilst drinking delicious hot chocolate.

Here are some pictures of our special day.

What an amazing performance the Foundation Stage children gave us all this morning. The singing was fantastic and they had worked so hard to remember all of their lines.

First Day Nerves

11th September 2016M Hanratty

Tomorrow is the day we add more children to our Marsden family. Everyone in the Foundation Stage is so excited to see all of the new starters in their smart uniform.

As well as the new children, we are adding someone else to our team, a new class pet! Our gecko has had her bath, packed her bag and can’t wait to move into the Nursery classroom.

There’s only one problem… She doesn’t have a name yet. Can you help think of a name? Leave a comment with your suggestion on the post.

See you all tomorrow 😃

Foundation Stage visit to St Mary’s Lighthouse and the Blue Reef Aquarium

By C Edwards12th July 2016

Foundation Stage had a fantastic time on our visit to St Mary’s Lighthouse and the Blue Reef Aquarium. After learning all about ‘Under the Sea’ at school, we enjoyed looking at the  sea creatures and even got to touch a starfish, sea urchin and crab in the touch pool.  We spent the morning on the beach, searching in the rock pools and some of us were lucky enough to find a lobster! We then enjoyed our dinner on the grass overlooking the sea, before going back on the coach to the aquarium, where we saw otters, clown fish and many other sea creatures. Foundation Stage staff would like to thank all of our reception parents and grandparents for making our visit possible and we would like to thank our nursery parents and grandparents for joining us on the trip. We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did!
