The Nursery children who stay all day made some spooktacular biscuits in the shape of bats, ghosts and many other Halloween themed objects.
We made them in the morning, took them to the kitchen to bake and then decorated them in the afternoon.
They tasted great and we even got to lick the spoon!!!

Halloween has arrived to the Early Years!
A big thank you to everyone for the donated pumpkins which are being put to use already. We are focusing on tool use and co-ordination by hammering nails into their skin. They will be used for other activities in the upcoming weeks.
As well as exploring pumpkins, in challenge we have been making glitter spider webs, spooky shape pictures, building castles using blocks and junk and participating in role play activities as Halloween characters.
The Nursery have also made some spooky soup with “Winnie the Witch” by listening to sounds (b-a-t) and even turned each other, and me, into a Mummy.
The EYFS unit has had a mouth watering aroma in the air this week as we have been tasting breads from around the world, baking bread and making our own pizzas.

This afternoon, the children built their own scarecrow to help the farmer.
We worked as a team to fill the clothes with hay and named the different parts of the body. The children had to do some problem solving to put all of his body parts together.
You can see our visitor, Harry O’Hay on the the railings in the EYFS yard.
Today the children in Nursery were very excited about their Number work because they were using smarties! We sorted them by colour, counted them and some children even made their own bar charts to find out which colour they had the most of.
Mrs Elliott and I were very proud, even if we didn’t get to eat any of the smarties! 😁🍬🍫
The Nursery children turned themselves in farmers in Maths. They needed to use the 3D shapes to build enclosures around the animals to stop them escaping. We talked about the size and shape of pens they created. Lots of fantastic shape, space and measure vocabulary from the children, well done!

Lucie was chosen as the winner as she has raised over £400 for charity by cutting her hair to donate to children undergoing cancer treatments. Well done!
We also celebrated the special talents of our engineering team, footballers, bikeability and the wonderful attendance from our whole school this year.
