EYFS worked well as a team to build our scarecrow. We decided to make Harry O’Hay from our text ‘The Scarecrows Wedding.
The children enthusiastically participated in an assembly about World Anatomy Day. We found out about the role of the lungs and the heart as well as trying out some exercises to increase our heart rate.
If you would like to learn more, you can visit The Fire station on Sunday 15th October.
We had a lovely time at the Harvest festival yesterday. Thank you for all of your kind and generous donations.
Nursery put their cooking skills to the test today and made some harvest soup. The children chopped up the vegetables themselves and we enjoyed smelling the delicious soup floating through the classroom.
Most children gave the soup a big thumbs up but we were so proud of everyone at least trying a bit.
Congratulations to our winners!
Nursery had a fantastic PE session today practising our throwing and catching skills using balloons. We tried to keep them in the air for as long as possible. We then applied these skills to using beanbags.
Staff were so proud of how independent the children were when getting ready for PE. Another skill we have encouraged the children to practise at home as well.
EYFS welcomed some visitors into their classroom to talk about the importance of staying healthy. We passed a ball around which was covered in glitter to demonstrate how easily germs are spread.
After this, we practised how to wash our hands correctly to make sure we kill the germs.
Another important topic we discussed was looking after our teeth. Nursery 30 hours children and Reception will brush their teeth everyday at school to keep them clean and healthy.
This week, Year Four began exploring structure and texture in music. They used body percussion to recreate the piece “Pitter, Patter Raindrops”.
Congratulations to this week’s Child of the week winners it was a very difficult choice as everyone has been working super hard!
