Easter Disco

On Tuesday, we had a very successful night for our Easter disco.

Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 looked fantastic in their Easter bonnets. There were so many great designs and you could really see all of the hard work that went into them.

The winners were:

Key Stage 2 joined in the fun with mad hair designs. We had some colourful and inventive designs. It must have taken a lot of time to create (and even longer to brush out!).

Year 3 and the Chocolate Factory.

In design and technology this term, we have been looking at food packaging. We discovered that there are a lot of things that need to be on packaging such as the ingredient list. This is very important for people who suffer from allergies.
We decided to make our own Easter Egg boxes and of course we needed to make the chocolate eggs too! We conducted some market research to gather ideas before making our own.
We were very pleased with the end products, especially the tasty treats inside.

Red Team!!!
Well done Red Team for working hard all term to take the victory. Although it was close race, Red Team earned the most house points this term.
Jasmine, the Captain of Red Team, was very proud and congratulated her team. Kate, the Vice Captain, encouraged the team to keep up the good work.

St Patrick’s Day 🍀

On 17th March, we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at Marsden.

In class, children learned all about the story of St. Patrick and took part in some craft activities .

The highlight of the day was the delicious feast available at lunchtime. The children thoroughly enjoyed the traditional stew and the leprechaun jelly in particular.

A big thank you to all of our dedicated staff who work in the kitchen.

Durham Outreach 2016

Our Year 5 children and the Year 6 choir have been part of an Outreach program organised by Durham Girl Choristers.

The children ended the program with a special concert at Durham Cathedral, where they joined six other schools from South Tyneside to perform the songs to their parents and other special guests.

Mother’s Day Assembly

Well Friday saw many of our Year 6 Mams shed a tear as their children shared poems and newspaper articles explaining why their Mam was the most special one. I was so proud every single child and I know this will be a memory that will stay with everyone for a long time.
