Year 1 had a brilliant time celebrating Pudsey Bear Day. We completed the School Council colouring competition and the Pudsey challenges “25 seconds of..”, then we ended the day with a delicious Pudsey Bear biscuit.
Congratulations to our winners!
Year 2 have had a fantastic day celebrating Children in Need and had a great time completing different activities in the classroom. We also loved completing the Pudsey Challenge yourself to 25 which was spread around school. Our favourite was 25 seconds of dancing!
This week we learnt all about Remembrance and why it is celebrated. We made our own nature poppy wreaths using autumn leaves and laid them on the cenotaph, which we built in the construction area.
Congratulations to our winners!
A special well done to Nursery PM for 100% attendance and Y2 who were our King Tiny winners!
Year 1 have been exploring the local area and after a visit to the windmill, we looked at different types of windmills and their parts. We then designed and made our very own windmills with moving sails. We think they are wonderful!
To carry on our learning of filtration, Y5 made their own filtration systems. We used pop bottles (which were kindly donated), cut them in half and poked holes in the lid. Then we added the layers talking about why each layer is needed.
The materials we used were cotton wool, charcoal, sand, small stones and then large stone. We were impressed by how clean it made the water!
Warning! Do not drink the water if you try this at home
The girls’ football team had an amazing start to their season with three wins out of three on the first South Tyneside match day. The girls worked really well as a team with some lovely passing and well-taken goals from our forwards. The girls were also solid defensively, not conceding a goal in any of their games!
A great morning, topped off by a special mention from another school about Demi’s sportsmanship when congratulating the opposing keeper on saving one of her shots.

The children in Year 1 have been learning all about Cave Baby in English and made their very own books about him. They were so good they all had to show Mrs Marshall them and get a special sticker each!
