Huge congratulations to the school council on a successful day of fun and games (and cakes!) to help raise money for Children In Need. The grand total raised was just over £270!
Well Done Marsden!
Amazing results this week! Our Hall of Famers are the children who have increased their speed the most since first trying the game. Congratulations to Federico, Lucas and Jessica in KS1; Joel, Lola and Emily in LKS2 and Nicholas, Curtis and Elizabeth in UKS2. This week the teachers will be looking for the coolest avators ….. so play lots, earn those coins and start customising!! Also, watch this space for a Battle of the Bands launching very soon ……
On Monday 13th of November we celebrated Remembrance Day. Our Year 6 held a special Remembrance Day Assembly to remember those who sacrificed our lives for us.
At lunchtime our fantastic kitchen staff made us a traditional English dinner. Yum!
Year One had a fantastic afternoon on our village walk. We looked at different types of housing and jobs in our local area. We wrapped up warm to go on our walk and had a brilliant time!
What would you like to be when you grow up?
Foundation Stage and Key Stage One had a fantastic morning working with author Gareth P. Jones. We enjoyed listening to his pirate stories and joining in with his songs. Gareth also said that Ms Gilbert would make a fantastic pirate!
This week the Foundation Stage children have been looking at the story of the Gruffalo’s Child by Julia Donaldson.
The Nursery Children found a track mark in in the waiting room which thought might belong to the Big Bad Mouse so we went on our own adventure to find him. Along the way, we discovered tracks in the “snow” and repeated the chant “Aha! Oho! A trail in the snow. Whose is this trail and where does it go?”
The children were then given time to explore the tracks and recreate them in the snow.
It was a fun time enjoyed by all, especially me!
Year 5 and 6 thoroughly enjoyed the visit from Gareth P. Jones, he was extremely entertaining and Mr O’Brien loved the beat boxing!
Congratulations to Sophia-Skye, Ava and Lucy from KS1, Cole, Daisy and Oscar D for LKS2 and Deacon, Erin and Reuben from UKS2 for having the most coins in their bank this week!
Next week we are looking for children who have made the biggest difference from their starting speed to their current speed! Good luck everybody!
Here are our rockstars of the week! Well done to Jessica, Federico and Lucas from KS1, Bradley, Harvey and Oscar from LKS2 and Elizabeth, Curtis and Nicholas from UKS2 who worked hard to improve their reaction times! Rock on Marsden!
