In Year 2, we loved dressing up as book characters and sharing stories with Year 6 on World Book Day.
In response to Mr Silly’s special World Book Day story, we decided to create our own Mr Men or Little Miss characters and write our own stories about them. What great imaginations and authors we have in Year 2!
Thank you to everyone for your wonderful generosity for World Book Day. We had an amazing day and it was great to see all of the children in such amazing outfits.
From the money we collected, we managed to raise £182.45 which will go towards the purchase of a reading chair for the library. As soon as it has been bought we will share the pictures with you.
Year 6 had an amazing time on World Book Day. they showed their talents with children in Year 2 doing paired reading and showed off their artistic skills in their book cover designs.

On Friday, our Year 6 children invited their Mam’s and families to come and share in a some special moments. There was not a dry eye in the house and I know it has created memories that stay with every bodies Mam for a lifetime.

Special mention to Deacon Mackie from Y6 who has managed the amazing achievement of 0.98 seconds per question in TT Rockstars. I’m not sure many adults could manage this! What a star!
Today, Y4 visited South Shields Museum. There, we took part in a workshop about local smugglers. We found out all about the roles of different people in the smuggling trade and also about the lives of a few local smugglers, such as Dolly Peel and John the Jibber!

We had a fantastic time dressing up as our favourite characters for World Book Day.
We had an exciting morning, reading with our friends in Year Five and designing our own book covers. Then we got to make our own pirate treasure maps in the afternoon. It was a great day!
