On Wednesday 14th March, Year Six visited Safety works in Newcastle to learn about being safe when out on the streets.
They had a super time with really well-informed and engaging people who took them through scenarios to learn how to keep safe when in the home, using the Metro, shopping with friends and playing in the park. The children took part very enthusiastically and were supported by staff and parent helpers.
Acting out an arrest.
Shop keepers are usually helpful so don’t take advantage!
Trying out the ‘Recovery Position’
We know how to stay safe!
As you know, the Foundation Stage children went to the farm yesterday. As part of Sign Language Week, we decided to learn some of the signs for the different animals we saw.
(Please excuse the tired teacher!)
We will upload another video tomorrow 😃
Today, the Foundation Stage children had a fantastic day of fun and learning at Whitehouse Farm.
We held some animals and fed others. We even had time to play in the park and go on a tractor ride!
Comment below which part of the day was your favourite?
On Monday morning Year 3 represented our school at the Beacon of Light.
We had a brilliant time and played lots of fun games.
FYear 4 had an active morning in Sunderland.
We were lucky enough to play curling, basketball and dodgeball!
We all had so much fun.
In Year 2 we have been learning about chocolate. We have explored where it comes from, how it is made today, and the history of it. We made and tasted the first Mayan ‘hot chocolate’ drink, chocolatl and thought it was very bitter! As a contrast, we made modern hot chocolate and this was delicious!
In Year 2, we loved our different red noses. We spent the day finding out about why we have Red Nose Day, wrote poems and information about the event, and designed new rare noses.
Year 2 had a wonderful time at the athletics event at Temple Park. They were amazing and showed super running, jumping and throwing skills. Well done!
As part of National Science week, the Foundation Stage children planted some sunflower seeds. We talked about what plants need to grow and look forward to seeing their progress in the next few weeks.
