On Monday, the Year 6 children visited South Shields Community Fire Station to lean about Reducing Accidents at Play (RAP). We came away with lots of valuable information about keeping ourselves safe and had so much fun in the process!

What a fantastic day we’ve had in EYFS! It has been a pleasure to watch the children showing their Grandparents around the environment. They’ve made pasta necklaces and crowns, painted beautiful pictures, decorated biscuits and hearts.
The feedback has been amazing and we are so excited to begin planning our next exciting event!
“Enjoyed it so much! Now I can imagine him everyday playing, learning and enjoying himself.”
“What a lovely idea, it’s lovely to be able to interact with your grandchild in their class room.”
“It’s been so lovely getting involved with my granddaughter’s learning and meeting other grandparents. Thank you so much!”
EYFS have been improving their chopping skills by cutting some harvest vegetables up to make some tasty Harvest Soup.
It was delicious!
As part of our Dinosaur topic, Reception and Nursery have enjoyed the story “Dinosaurs Love Underpants” this week. We made our own dinosaur paintings and created some patterned underpants by printing with shapes.
Reception had some lovely patterned underpants to look at and, shamefully, I stole them and hid them in my bag after talking about the different patterns with Nursery. Luckily, they have forgiven me and Sophie even made me a pair of my own so I won’t steal theirs again.
I am so sorry Reception and I promise to never do it again!
In Year 1 we have been learning about instructions, as part of the topic we had to follow instructions to make our own jam sandwich. We had lots of fun and they were delicious
