Year 4 and 5 enjoyed a special visit from the RNLI. We now know how to be safe around and in water.
Thank you to ‘Super Steve’ from Boldon Lawn Tennis Club, for spending the day teaching us how to play tennis. The children had a fantastic day and can’t wait to display their skills in PE and outside of school!
In Year 1 we having been learning about how to keep our body and our mind healthy. Today we talked about feelings and discussed what we are worried about.
This week in Year 1 we have had some great fun making salt dough ornaments. We even made the dough ourselves, although we did get a bit sticky!
As part of ‘Children’s Mental Health Week’, Foundation Stage have been learning about emotions. We talked about our feelings and we used our facial expressions to practice showing our emotions too.
How are you feeling today?
What a lovely time the EYFS children had sharing a book in Grandad’s Library with their family.
We can’t wait for our next sessions!
Last week the Reception children made their own Chinese drums and took them to the hall to test them out. They were so good that they woke up the Chinese Lion!
To end our topic of Chinese New Year, EYFS thought about the Chinese tradition of the wishing tree. People write down their wish on something red (a lucky colour) and then tie them to the wishing tree hoping they come true. We were so excited to discover we had our very own wishing tree in the garden!
We wrote down our wishes and put them on the tree. Wishes included holidays, for family to be happy and safe and some pets.
Everyone keep their fingers crossed they come true 🤞
