Our special Word of the Week in EYFS is “Family”.
Willow has requested a story about bears and love so this fits in perfectly with our Word of the Week.
Hope you enjoy!
To start the year, EYFS explored making our own portraits. First, we looked in mirrors to see what our faces looked like and then we drew and painted representations.
Our perfect Picassos!
I think they look amazing!
Congratulations to our first winners!
Everyone has made a great start to life in Y4. We were all feeling a little nervous last week (Mrs Wilson and Mrs Lawson included!) but after having a good chat about what would be the same and what would be different about school we all felt much better.
This week in Year 1 we have had lots of fun exploring our environment.
We have been working hard learning our tricky words and have had lots of fun in the role play area. Next week we are starting our new topic: Fairy Tales!
Mrs Elliott has set up a Curiosity Cube in EYFS to help develop communication and language skills.
This week, the objects in the cube are linked to our whole school text “Here We Are” by Oliver Jeffers. The book helps us to think about the world we live in and how everyone is different. We have focused on our EYFS environment and explored all of the areas we can plan in. The children looked at objects and tried to match them to an area e.g the paint brush belongs to the painting area.
Tell us your favourite area to plan in below in the comments section 🙂
Another great day with the second half of our Nursery children joining us today. We had lots of fun and can’t wait to come together next week to become one big family 😄
Year 1 have chosen to adopt a Tiger . It was a difficult decision to make as we needed a class teddy and there were lots of endangered animals we wanted to help. We took a vote and settled on a Tiger.
Today our adoption pack arrived from the WWF. It had two tigers in! It also had lots of pictures, information and some stickers! We can’t wait to take a tiger home when we become child of the week.
We just need to pick two names. Any suggestions?
What a superb first day back for half of the Nursery children!
We met a lot of new friends, played with old friends and loved exploring the environment.
