Year 1 and Year 3 enjoyed sharing their love of reading together!

The year 4 children had a wonderful afternoon sharing their work with their families. The adults couldn’t get over how much work the children had produced and were really pleased to see the progress they had made over the course of the year.
To support community week at school, Year 5 undertook a litter pick on the coastal path.
They were superb and managed to collect six bags of litter!
Rock pooling and fossil finding! Year 4 are loving Beach School!
Here at Marsden, we know that lots of children participate in clubs and activities outside of school and we love to hear all about it. We really enjoy celebrating successes together in class but we felt that this young lady deserved a special post having returned from the famous ballroom in Blackpool Tower as a WORLD CHAMPION!
Amelie is an amazing dancer and dedicates so much of her time practising for competitions. We were unbelievably proud of her when she returned from a weekend of intense competition with these amazing trophies and a fabulous story to share. Amelie competed against children from all around the world to be crowned as champion in her under 10 category. Well done Amelie! You’re a superstar!
Year Five have been learning about Mexico in Geography. As a celebration to finish the topic we had a Mexican Fiesta. We explored traditional Mexican Food, and listened to Mexican music. On the afternoon we made Salsa, Guacamole, and Quesadillas.
We had a brilliant time and the food was delicious!
Year 4 loved their first lesson at Beach School!
This week, the children used their teamwork skills to build a shelter. They also enjoyed skimming stones since the conditions were perfect to practise!
Here are the songs for Year 6 to practise at home:
Earlier this week, our school football team represented Marsden in the South Tyneside Bart Rippon Cup. We were placed in a really strong group and unfortunately didn’t qualify for the semi-finals. However, the team played superbly well and showed a great attitude in all of the matches. Well done everyone!
Year 5 tried out the ancient Maya game Pok-A-Tok and had great fun!
