Well done to everyone who joined us for our Foundation Stage and Key Stage One ‘Wake Up and Shake Up’ this morning.
What a great way to start our day!
Well done to everyone who joined us for our Foundation Stage and Key Stage One ‘Wake Up and Shake Up’ this morning.
What a great way to start our day!
It was very exciting at school today because our eggs began hatching, a day early!
At the end of the school day, we had three new chicks and three more hatched by 5.30 so we have six.
They are amazing and we can’t wait to hold them, once they have rested and dried out. It also looks like we will have more chicks by tomorrow as our last four eggs have all started cracking too.
On Tuesday 4th June, Year 2 visited The Word in South Shields as part of their topic work on transport. When we were there, we worked on computers, with 2Create a Superstory, and used coding to make an electronic transport book with moving pictures. We became engineers with Lego Wedo and made moving boats and aeroplanes. Finally, we were filmed in front of the green screen talking and singing about different forms of transport. This was then edited together and special effects added and the result was amazing! We look forward to sharing our film with friends and family at our class assembly on Friday 14th June.
What a great day we had!
Year 2 have worked so hard on their special questions for SAT’s that the Nursery children thought they deserved a little treat.
Well Done Year 2
Key Stage One had a brilliant morning doing their sponsored ‘Move a Mile!’
We ran, skipped, hopped, crawled and danced our way around the track.
We were exhausted once we had finished!
We have had a special day, celebrating the end of our ‘Grace Darling’ topic in Year One.
We started the day with our amazing class assembly.
We then had a special Grace Darling quiz, where we had four winning teams!
After that, we worked together to build our own lighthouses. This was very tricky!
This afternoon we walked along the coast to Souter Lighthouse. We looked at perspective and talked about the horizon. Then we produced our own sketches of the lighthouse.
Finally, we ended our day in Laura’s park.
What an amazing day it has been!
Well done to Year One who were amazing in their class assembly.
The children have had a brilliant time learning about Grace Darling and were so proud to show her story to the rest of the school.
Anais: I loved being Grace Darling because I had lots of lines to say and I had loads of fun.
Oliver: It was awesome! I loved being a storyteller and I loved learning my words!
Blossom: It was brilliant because it was really fun. I thought it was really good, especially when my Mam cried!
Louie: It was good. I liked singing.
We have had an excellent time developing our outdoor environment. Both Year One and Year Two have used some of their playtime to remove the weeds and tidy up the garden. We now have lots of green fingered children!
Lily-Mae: I love it! It’s nice to do some gardening.
Oliver: It was very hard digging out all of the weeds.
Isla: I like doing the garden. We’re allowed to use the tools!
Jay: We have to dig out the weeds or our new plants can’t grow!
As a celebration of our Fairy Tales topic, Year One have designed, created and evaluated their own houses today.
We used a range of biscuits and had to work as a team to build our houses.
Which biscuit do you think is the strongest?
Everybody had a great time looking at all of the amazing eggs which the children had made this morning.
Thank you to everyone who came to support the school.
