This week I set Year One a challenge to make the ultimate sandwich. There has been some lovely ideas and it will be tricky to pick the winner. Have you made your sandwich yet?
I thought I would add in my own entry. I went for a fish finger and chip sandwich topped with lots of tomato ketchup! It was delicious. 🙂
In the Stothard house we have been watching for birds and animals in the garden. Can you keep an eye on the different visitors to your yard or garden?
Our gardens and parks are home to many different species of birds. While you are out for your daily walk why not use some of the resources below to try and identify the various types that you can see?

Today, Jack and Ethan created a fabulous PowerPoint of the top 10 capital cities you can’t get enough of. They researched the cities and added the information and pictures in.
Didn’t they do a great job?!
Today, Tom brought in a bag and said he had something to show. Last night, at home, Tom sat and made 30 hearts for all his class friends to make them smile.
He definitely brought a smile to all our faces today. Well Done Tom!
Today we enjoyed the last day with all of our friends. We had a brilliant time playing party games and espcially loved musical statues!
After that we joined up with Year 5 for some sporting fun. We completed lots of different races and had a lots of fun.
This afternoon we watched Happy Feet and played with our friends.
We had a brilliant time on World Book Day and completed some great activities! We shared stories with Year 5 and even designed our own books!
Everyone looked fantastic!
This week Year 3 have written leaflets explaining ‘How to Survive the Stone Age’. They were so proud of their work that they shared the information with Year 2 and year 2 loved visiting year 3. They learnt lots of new information!
Today Year 1 visited Durham Castle as part of our ‘Once Upon A Time’ topic. We had a brilliant time exploring the castle on the morning and even had lunch in The Great Hall.
On the afternoon we had an excellent time making our own castles and even had time for a game of knock the walls down.

Tonight was the first Lego Club. This week our challenge was to build a caterpillar. We had some brilliant designs! After we finished our ‘Quick Build’ we had an amazing time creating our own designs!
