Excellent Ewan!

13th July 2020L Carr

Ewan has been super busy completing his Year Three challenges. He has created a brilliant Robo Mop for La Luna and a scary poster warning sailors of the dangerous black rock. His shape posters are very informative and he enjoyed making an ocean in a jar. He has also completed many science experiments and built a 3D model of Marsden Village.

Great work Ewan!

A Lovely Card from Sam 😊

15th June 2020L Carr

Thank you so much for my lovely card Sam, it brightened my day. Well done for keeping our beaches clean by collecting rubbish and I hope the baby seal made it back into the sea. Paddle boarding sounds like so much fun and it sounds like you and dad are paddle board experts. It has been lovely to hear all of your news from home and I hope to see you soon.

Beautiful Nature 🖼 🌿

11th June 2020M Hanratty

Marsden is full of amazing artists but art is all around us! Why not take a look through your own DIY frame? All you need is a piece of cardboard, perhaps from a cereal box, and cut out a shape. Then explore around you, framing beautiful scenes.
Remember you can send pictures of the nature you discover to [email protected] 😀

Writing Competition

18th May 2020S Hume

We all know that we have some talented writers at Marsden who love to write their own stories. If this is you, I’m here to tell you that a new writing competition has been launched with a winning prize of £200 worth of National Book tokens!

This competition is open for all writers aged 6-18 and will be judged by six of the UK’s most exciting children’s authors. Three winners will be chosen for the £200 winning prize and further smaller prizes of National Book tokens will also be up for grabs. For this competition, simply write a short story of no more than 300 words, using the theme ‘BIG DREAMS‘. You can interpret this anyway you like: an epic fantasy inspired by a dream, an amazing adventure that takes place in another world, or a true-to-life story set in an imaginary dream place.

Now more than ever is a time for imagination with magical encounters and extraordinary adventures. While our world changes, stories still spread joy, give people comfort and allow people to dream!

If you would like to enter, please send your story to me: [email protected] before Thursday 28th May and I will enter it for you.

It would be lovely to read some of your big dreams stories so … get writing!

🥪 A perfect sandwich 🥪

18th May 2020S Stothard

Last week I challenged Year 1 children to come up with a super sandwich and Millie and Jack did not disappoint.

Millie chose a ham and cheese sandwich which she prepared herself. Jack joined in and made a chocolate spread sandwich. Millie kindly made Mum’s too! Which was  a fish finger, cheese, cucumber and tomato wrap.

All delicious choices, well done!
