Our last two Funky Fingers sessions were snow themed! ❄️

We used scissors to make snowflakes and exercised our funky fingers in our own homemade snow dough.

EYFS have enjoyed raising money for Children in Need. We designed our own Pudsey Bears, made our own Pudsey masks and added spots to Pudsey’s bandana. Our favourite was definitely the cake sale and obstacle course.

Funky Fingers Week 3

Tonight was a special Funky Fingers because we let the children use our Kid K’nex! Nobody else in the whole school has tested our new equipment so the children had a great time trying to make different objects with the kit.

Funky Fingers Week 2

17th November 2023M Hanratty

This week, we concentrated on our fine motor skills through a variety of activities. We used the peg boards, tapping shapes and our brand new tinkering blocks.

We also continued our gross motor skill development by adding cones to travel in and out of while on our scooters and balance bikes.

The session was finished off with a game of dance and freeze!

Winnie the Witch visits EYFS 🧙‍♀️

23rd October 2023M Hanratty

EYFS had a cheeky visitor today while Mrs Hanratty was in an important meeting, Winnie the Witch. She made potions with the children, adding in slimy snots, rabbit poo, goblin wee and other thoroughly disgusting ingredients.
Once the children said their spell and added the final ingredient, they noticed that their potion fizzed. They poured Mrs Carr and Miss Corr a drink and tricked them into drinking it. They instantly transformed into cats!!! Don’t worry though, the children uttered the magic word to turn them back into teachers.
A magical day for all!

Clay Hedgehogs In EYFS

16th October 2023L Carr

Reception strengthened their fine motor skills this week by rolling clay into a hedgehogs body and used scissors to snip spikes into the top of it. We then added a head and some eyes, we all thought our hedgehogs were super cute.
