I prepared this slideshow for a meeting to show some of the activities the children have doing so far this academic year. They made me smile so much seeing the smiles on their faces and how much they’d grown.
Hope they make you smile too 🙂
To celebrate world book day, the children in the Foundation Stage took party in activities based around the story of “Alice in Wonderland”. We baked jam tarts, had a Mad Hatter’s tea party (wearing our own hats that we had made) and created our own Wonderlands using different materials.
One of the highlights of the day was sharing a story with a Year 3 friend. The children loved hearing the children reading some of their favourite stories to them.
That children (and the staff) had a fantastic day!
Yesterday, Nursery and Reception class made some delicious pancakes from scratch. The children looked at the ingredients needed as well as the equipment they would be using. Once the children had mixed the batter together, we cooked them in the pan. We really enjoyed watching them flip up into the air.
Not to forget the important part, eating them! The children took their pancake to the topping station so they could make their treat extra tasty.
Well done Nursery and Reception!
Nursery, Reception and Year One have been working hard to develop their bike riding skills over the past four weeks. Everyone has tried their best, learnt lots of new skills and had lots of fun in the process. Well done everyone!
Reception have been learning all about the story behind Chinese New Year. It is a story called “The Great Race” involving the animals of the Chinese Zodiac. The children were tasked with retelling the story, focusing on the beginning, middle and end.
We could believe the amazing story that James produced. What a fantastic job!
What an amazing day the Foundation Stage Children have had today!
We have been lucky enough to visit Santa in his workshop. We were given tests to become special elf helpers including delivering presents, making decorations and bird feeders whilst drinking delicious hot chocolate.
Here are some pictures of our special day.
On Monday, Nursery and Reception had their Christmas Party!
We had a fantastic time dancing and playing games. The children enjoyed sharing some party food and we even had a visit from a very special person!
Forget about the Honey G, Foundation stage are the new singing sensations!
As part of National Nursery Rhyme week, Nursery and Reception performed some traditional rhymes.
Check out our amazing vocals on the videos below.
What an amazing performance the Foundation Stage children gave us all this morning. The singing was fantastic and they had worked so hard to remember all of their lines.
Here are a few photographs of the outstanding actors.
Today saw the last collecting day for our GIFT FOR GRANNY appeal.
This was a new venture this year and one which I have been over whelmed by. As a community, our parents always support the school and every charity we ask, however despite this being a time of the years when so many other things are happening, we have had an outstanding reponse to this charity.
Tonight the gifts have been collected and I can only imagine how many lives the presents will brighten during this festive season.
Thanks you so much.

Our School Council help to pack the gifts.
