As part of our athletics topic in PE, Y5 have been practicing their shot putting skills. We worked in teams to throw, measure and record our distances. This activity also linked in with our maths work of converting measurements and working with decimals.
Last night, our dance club represented Marsden at the South Tyneside Dance Festival. Their performance was phenomenal!
Y2-Y5 thoroughly enjoyed their visit from Whitburn Cricket Club. We discovered a lot of natural talent and some children made a lot of progress in the hour session!
Hopefully, some of the children will have discovered a new hobby!
A great afternoon had by all!
Congratulations to this year’s winners, yellow team.
Reception, Year One and Year Two had a brilliant morning participating in Sports Day. The children took part in a range of events and it was amazing to see everyone having lots of fun.
The Y5 children did Marsden proud by taking part in bikeabilty week and learning how to stay safe on their bikes, level 2.
This half term, in PE, Y5 have been learning about Netball. Our main focus has so far been on the three main passes: chest pass, shoulder pass and bounce pass. Check out our moves.
Once we were confident in passing, we moved on to footwork and defending.
One defeat, two draws and a win for our girls at Temple Park today. We are very proud of you all!
Well done to our fantastic football team who drew 1-1 with East Boldon tonight. It was brilliant to see the team working so well together, especially in the chilly conditions.
Our final match day is on Monday 17th March.
Reception loved taking part in the superhero sports festival at Temple Park. They completed all the missions and defeated the super villains – great work Reception!
