Today we had the pleasure of listening to our termly Rocksteady concert. All of the performers were fantastic and we loved watching how much progress they have made. Well done!
Please find below the Christmas Music for the choir to practise.

This week, Chris introduced us to call and response songs along with some funky dance moves.
We also explored our first fretboard!
Today, Year 5 experienced their fist ukulele session and they were naturals! We discovered all the different parts of the instrument, how to hold and play it, the string names and even managed to play along with a song.
Apparently, Chris teaching them the ukulele is a step up from listening to Mrs Hanratty sing! We can’t wait for our next lesson.
Our Rocksteady Bands put on a show-stopping performance for school and families to celebrate the end of term. We were so impressed by the process the bands have made. Well done!
This week, Nursery have loved sharing the story of “Starry-Eyed Stan”. At the end of the story, Stan sets up his own singing school so we couldn’t resist making some musical instruments.
The children used the junk modelling resources to either make a drum, guitar or shaker. We investigated the different sounds they made and how they made a sound by tapping, shaking or strumming.
Yesterday in Year 2 we started our new Computing topic Digital Music. The children loved listening to different types of music and started to create their own music.
We loved the latest concert from our Rocksteady performers!
Please practise the songs for our performance at Durham Cathedral.
Our choir visited Falstone Manor Care Home to perform some festive songs for the residents. Our children performed beautifully and brought a lot of joy to the ladies and gentleman who enjoyed their repertoire. Well done everyone!
