Thank you so much to Steve, Miles and Lewis from South Shields Football Club for joining us for a special assembly this morning. They came to talk to us about their game on Saturday, where twelve lucky Marsden pupils will be invited onto the pitch as part of their opening ceremony. We also got to ask them some amazing questions too!

Spelling Shed
Today we celebrated Mrs Clennan as it’s her last day at Marsden!
Year 4 created a special book to share our favourite memories and we also gave her lots of special gifts to say ‘thank you’ and ‘goodbye’.
We’ll miss you Mrs Clennan!
On Tuesday, we had Claire join us from Young Carers to talk about the support available to families where the child is taking on a care role.

Year 4 have had a great time exploring and comparing the area of shapes. We’ve loved the practical elements of this topic and we can’t wait to complete our investigation tomorrow!

We would like to wish everyone celebrating the festival of light a joyous Diwali celebration!
As you know, EYFS love a celebration so we created our own CD Diva Lamps, decorated henna hands and watched how Diwali is celebrated. If you want to learn more you can watch the clip below.
My First Diwali

Year 5 had a brilliant day yesterday at The Word working on Lego We Do and Scratch. The children had a wonderful time. Well done Year 5!
Year 6 had a fantastic visit to High Force to see the features of a river as part of their geography learning this term.
This afternoon, Year Five investigated how to separate mixtures. We used sieving, magnetism and filtration to separate a mixture of water, rocks, paper clips and water.
