Today Y4 explored using loops when writing code. We created some 2d shapes by adapting the values in the code we created.
Year 4 began to explore equivalent fractions with an interactive fraction wall. The children began to spot patterns and realised that their times tables facts will come in useful when they begin to work out equivalents!
There were tasty smells all through the EYFS classrooms as we made some tasty stir fry to link in with Lunar New Yard (Chinese New Year). The children were so careful chopping up all the vegetables. The best part was definitely the tasting!
This week, EYFS found out all about Chinese New Year celebrations and traditions. We wrote our own new year wishes and hung them on our wishing tree in the EYFS garden. We hope all our wishes come true! 🤞🏼
Year One had the best morning at Laura’s Park. We were so well behaved! Although we did get very muddy, we made the best memories. The smiles speak for themselves!
This half term the School Council are looking at key roles in school. As part of this we have been finding out what role governors play in how our school runs. This week, school council had the privilege of meeting one of Marsden’s governors to find out all about her role.
The children wrote brilliant questions and thoroughly enjoyed speaking to Mrs Hayward. Thank you so much for giving up time in your busy schedule to come and speak with us.
Our Sports Leaders received their special leader packs today. I’m sure you’ll agree that they look fabulous!
For this week’s club, Year 6 planned and delivered a session of Bench Ball for Year 3 and it went down brilliantly. Well done to Lucy, Rosie, Daniel and Marcus who received house points for their fantastic leadership and team skills too.
Year 4 have been enjoying hearing about the tricks Matilda plays on her family. They are planning and writing their own trick in the form of a play script. Keep watching to see their scenes in action!
