Last week, we started our science lessons by recapping knowledge previously taught about solids, liquids and gases. I was very impressed when they could explain how the particles behave in each state of matter and even gave me a demonstration.

For our Y6 children it was their very last first week back at Marsden. We have been full of busy with maths, English, PE, geography, RE, PSHE and art. Here we are hard at work completing our still life sketching work.
Well done to our superstar runners who completed a 1.4km run this morning as part of the Great North Run celebrations.
Nursery had a fantastic first day!
Year 2 have had a great time starting their Explorer topic. We found out what an explorer is and even did our own exploring.
This morning Year 2 heard a loud metal bang and Mr Payne alerted us to a strange object on the yard. Year 2 bravely went to investigate and found it was a crashed spaceship. We wrote letters to alert the rest of the school and are carrying out more investigations
The new Year 5 children have shown us how hard working they from the moment they set foot through the door. We’ve converted Roman Numerals, wrote about our “tall tale holidays” and had a creative afternoon.
We even managed to squeeze in our first trip to the library!
