Well done to Year 6 for leading us in a very respectful and thought provoking assembly on Remembrance Day.
EYFS have enjoyed learning about Diwali!
On Friday, our Year 6 Sports Leaders visited Temple Park to participate in the School Sport Organising Crew (SSOC) Primary Leadership Programme welcome event. They took part in a range of leadership activities and games and will be using these skills throughout the year to promote sport throughout Marsden.
To mark Remembrance Day, Year 5 decided we want to show our respect by creating a window mural. Mrs Potter kindly painted a soldier for us and Mrs Chrisp worked with the children to create a field of poppies.
For our class wreath, we used a compass to create different sized size circles and staple them together after snipping around the edge.
Today, Year 5 experienced their fist ukulele session and they were naturals! We discovered all the different parts of the instrument, how to hold and play it, the string names and even managed to play along with a song.
Apparently, Chris teaching them the ukulele is a step up from listening to Mrs Hanratty sing! We can’t wait for our next lesson.
It was lovely to discuss phonics and reading with Reception parents this week and I have attached a copy of the PowerPoint discussed. If you have any queries or questions please just ask.
Thank you.
Mrs Carr
Congratulations to our winners!
Also congratulations to Ruby in Y5 who won before the half term holiday and Mason who has passed his swimming assessment.
A big thank you to Siddharth and Jasritha who shared with the class how they celebrate Diwali. The class made their own Diya lamps, made their own sweet treats and decorated the class for the celebration.
To finish off our study of Marsden, the children drew maps to show Paddington how to get to Souter Lighthouse from our school. I think they are superb!
It was definitely Maisie’s lucky day today as she won the Y1 raffle!
