Y4 had a wonderful visit to Arbeia Roman Fort. The staff gave us a fantastic tour of the ruins before we completed a ‘handling workshop’ where we looked at objects that were nearly 2000 years old!
In the workshop we were taught how archaeologists act as detectives to find out more about the objects they have found and what they can tell us about the past.
We really enjoyed looking the reconstructed buildings to see what life was like at the fort for the soldiers who lived there.
We’ve had a wonderful day in EYFS celebrating ‘Bring Your Grandparent To School Day’. We had so much fun doing lots of arts and crafts, decorating yummy biscuits and showing everyone our lovely classrooms. We can’t wait to do it again very soon!
We have been learning all about our 5 senses in Year 1. We took to the playground to see what we could discover. We found lots of lovely things such as lavender, feathers and curry leaves. We added them into our discovery box and shared them around our circle once back to class.

In Science we have been learning about the different parts of our bodies. We had a fantastic lesson drawing around our bodies and labelling them with chalk. We even came together at the end to draw and label Mr Payne!
We have been learning about the Jewish celebration of Sukkot. To celebrate, we each made a special plate to give to a friend and then had a special EYFS picnic.
EYFS have enjoyed read the tale of “The Rainbow Fish” and we loved his shiny, colourful scales. We made a list of all the colours we could see.
The EYFS staff were super impressed with their lovely writing and mark marking!
