The year 4 children had a wonderful afternoon sharing their work with their families. The adults couldn’t get over how much work the children had produced and were really pleased to see the progress they had made over the course of the year.

Congratulations to Wren and Ben!
Some of our fantastic footballers represented Marsden at a girls’ football festival at Kepier Academy in Houghton Le Spring. It was the girls first ever tournament and having only trained together for a few months, there were lots of nerves! The girls represented our school magnificently and thoroughly enjoyed themselves which is exactly what we wanted! A big thank you to Miss Lines, our fantastic coach, for all her help and encouragement. Well done girls!
To support community week at school, Year 5 undertook a litter pick on the coastal path.
They were superb and managed to collect six bags of litter!
Rock pooling and fossil finding! Year 4 are loving Beach School!
Here at Marsden, we know that lots of children participate in clubs and activities outside of school and we love to hear all about it. We really enjoy celebrating successes together in class but we felt that this young lady deserved a special post having returned from the famous ballroom in Blackpool Tower as a WORLD CHAMPION!
Amelie is an amazing dancer and dedicates so much of her time practising for competitions. We were unbelievably proud of her when she returned from a weekend of intense competition with these amazing trophies and a fabulous story to share. Amelie competed against children from all around the world to be crowned as champion in her under 10 category. Well done Amelie! You’re a superstar!
Yesterday, Miss Corr turned 21. It wouldn’t be a special Marsden birthday without lots of embarrassment and surprises but we had a fantastic day celebrating together.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us tonight to share in some magic Marsden memories tonight. It was so lovely to talk to past pupils, parents and grandparents who also attend Marsden.
We even had the pleasure of welcoming the granddaughter of Alderman Joseph Dawes who opened our school!
