The EYFS children loved making their Christingles this week in preparation for the church service.
Congratulations to Grace S in Nursery and Arlo in Reception.
EYFS staff were surprised yesterday when they discovered there was a hotel in the classroom!
Ezra, Lucas and Rory chose to spend their planning time working as a team to build their own hotel. They were incredibly focused and paid close attention to detail by making bedrooms, a swimming pool, park, sun loungers and even a dinner hall (restaurant).
Mrs Marshall was very impressed!
This week in EYFS we have learnt all about why we celebrate Remembrance Day. The children enjoyed creating their own poppies in our classroom environments and discussing the knowledge of Remembrance.
Thank you so much to everyone who attended the reading meeting. Here is the presentation: If you have any further questions, please contact Mrs Carr.
We would like to wish everyone celebrating the festival of light a joyous Diwali celebration!
As you know, EYFS love a celebration so we created our own CD Diva Lamps, decorated henna hands and watched how Diwali is celebrated. If you want to learn more you can watch the clip below.

This week during Number Time, Nursery have been focusing on using positional language and representing number.
Mrs Elliott took the children through the school on a Spooky Hunt to find Halloween creatures. Every time they discovered a creature, they made a mark on their hunt sheet. The children were very focused and talked about where the creatures were hiding.
Mrs Hanratty worked with the children on extending their positional vocabulary. We stuck the characters from our Magic Monday story, Room on the Broom, and then described were they were all sitting. The children were encouraged to use vocabulary such as “in front”, “behind”, “on top”, “below” and were even challenged to use “in between”.
Check out a selection of our work below 😀
We loved seeing all of our EYFS looking so scary in their Halloween costumes yesterday
Spooky school has already proved very popular with the children this week. They have loved engaging in role play, strengthening their fine motor skills and exploring sensory trays! The Nursery children have already started to turn staff into frogs 🐸
We look forward to sharing some of our scary learning tasks 🕷️
Thank you so much to everyone who attended our Book Breakfast today with the EYFS children. We love involving families in our learning and sharing parts of our routine.
Grandad’s Library is one of our favourite places in school!
Here is some of the lovely feedback we received:
“Enjoyed coming into school and spending time with Lucas, sharing stories. He was very and excited and I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. It helps support connections between home and school giving it a “family feel”.”
“Lovely reading session with Mrs Hanratty. Great to finally see Grandad’s library which Joel mentions and talks about a lot. So many lovely books to choose from.”
I wonder what we should do for our next Family Day? If you have a suggestion, leave it in the comments below. 🙂
