As part of our new literacy book, “Leo and the Octopus” Year 1 have looked at the meaning of the word ‘unique’. We discussed how we are all different and made our own posters about ourselves. We enjoyed finding out similarities and differences we have with our friends.
This week, Nursery have loved sharing the story of “Starry-Eyed Stan”. At the end of the story, Stan sets up his own singing school so we couldn’t resist making some musical instruments.
The children used the junk modelling resources to either make a drum, guitar or shaker. We investigated the different sounds they made and how they made a sound by tapping, shaking or strumming.
Congratulations to our winners this week!
We would also like to wish Iliyas and Waqas good luck in their new school!
EYFS children and staff would like to say a big thank you to Miss Sutton for all her help week while completing her work experience!
Thank you to everyone who came along to see our whole school annual art gallery.
Every year the children step up and dazzle us with their art skills and this year was no exception. Each class created a 2D and 3D piece to display.
In DT we have been looking at healthy eating. We each designed our own fruit salads and learnt how to cut them safely for us to eat.
Year 1 enjoyed finding and comparing different types of leaves we found outside as part of our science topic. We could identify the three main parts of a leaf on our rubbings.
This afternoon Red House enjoyed their trip to Laura’s Park to celebrate their house point win. Well done Reds!
SATs 2024 – that’s a wrap!
Huge congratulations to our amazing Year 6’s who completed their SATs last week. They have worked so hard for this moment and should be incredibly proud of how far they have come. We certainly are!
After a tough week what better way to celebrate than with some fresh air in the park and a delicious ice cream.
