Yesterday, Year Four visited the Sunderland Empire to watch Gangsta Granny live on stage! We had an amazing time and the children thoroughly enjoyed every minute. We can’t wait for the follow-up workshop in school next week. More photos to follow then!
Year One had a fantastic time on our visit to Tesco for the ‘Farm to Fork’ trail. We went on a rainbow fruit and vegetable hunt throughout the store, tasted freshly baked tiger bread and also got to experience how cold the freezers were; it was -21 degrees inside! We had a brilliant time and we loved learning about why it is important to be healthy. Thank you Tesco!
On Friday our Year 2 children completed an amazing assembly for the whole school and parents. They have spent the last term finding out about the rainforest and shared all of their work.

I prepared this slideshow for a meeting to show some of the activities the children have doing so far this academic year. They made me smile so much seeing the smiles on their faces and how much they’d grown.
Hope they make you smile too 🙂
Starting in September, Marsden will be offering 30 hours places to children who qualify for the new initiative.
If you couldn’t make the meeting tonight or would like to check any of the information shared, you can download our powerpoint.
If you have any questions or would like access to a computer, Mrs Coffey will be available tomorrow morning to help.
This term, Year One are going to be learning about ‘The Great Outdoors’. Over the Easter holidays, the children were asked to create something relating to our new topic. I am so impressed by all of the fantastic homework that has been brought in, as it is clear to see that everyone has tried very hard. The children’s homework is currently on display in our classroom. Well done Year One!
After 8 years at Marsden Primary School and MANY years for the catering service Rhonda started her retirement today.
The staff and children at Marsden will be sad to see her go but wish her a very happy and healthy retirement.
