In ‘One Life’ we are learning about how to have happy play times and ways to solve problems independently. We are looking for children who have kind hands, kind words and kind actions.
All of our children have worked very hard this week and it was very difficult to choose our winners.

Today the Foundation Stage children enjoyed having a Teddy Bears’ Picnic. The children all brought in their own Cuddly toy from home and ate jam sandwiches and biscuits that the children had made themselves.
At the picnic we also played a positional language game, which Millie and Chocolate and Scarlett and Belle won. We even performed our own Teddy Bear dance.

Tomorrow is Mrs Marshall’s birthday so the children prepared their own celebration assembly. Each year group presented her with cards that they had made and we looked at photos of her growing up. She received some lovely flowers from everyone and the choir even prepared a special performance for the birthday girl.

In History, Year One have been writing questions to find out how school and life has changed. To help us answer our questions, Molly’s Nanna and Grandad came into school and shared lots of stories about their lives with us. They also brought photographs in to show us how life has changed. We had a fantastic time and we now know lots of information about how school has changed.

This week the children were challenged to build their own Roman arch, some developed their arches into bridges.

While the rest of the school were at Whitburn Church celebrating the Harvest Festival, the Nursery children made some delicious Harvest soup. We chopped up the vegetables and put them all in a big pan. Even John the chef thought it was very tasty!
Nursery and Reception have been building up their balancing, travelling and jumping skills. The children have shown promising progress and have enjoyed exploring the apparatus.
