This week, we should have been inviting you all into school to watch our yearly Remembrance Day assembly. Unfortunately, due to the current circumstances, this has not been possible. Instead, Year 6 have put together a short video to remind us of why today is so important. We hope that you enjoy it and ask you to join us in a two minute silence at 11:00.
Year 2 were very busy creating poppies for our poppy wreath to help commemorate “Remembrance Day.” We explored various ways of staining coffee filter papers to colour our poppies, then once dried we cut, twisted and shaped our poppies to help create our wreath. It was great fun!
To further develop language skills in Nursery, Mrs Elliott put the children to the test by giving them buckets with unknown objects in. The children had to put their hand in to describe how the different objects felt.
There was hard pasta, sticky washing up liquid, cold baked beans and many more.
Why not give this a try at home?
Congratulations to our winners!
To celebrate Bonfire Night, the Foundation Stage Children have been creating their own fabulous firework pictures. The children used tubes to print with and then added a little extra sparkle with some glitter.
They look amazing!
Congratulations to our winners!
Year 2 had an amazing Halloween Day and it certainly was FUN! The costumes were brilliant and that added to the super atmosphere of the day. The children participated in spooky craft sessions creating Trick or Treat Bags, spooky skulls and creepy bats. We had great fun playing Halloween party games and we all laughed so much. We ended the day with a scrumptious tea party where our lovely friend Lucia won the chocolate Halloween raffle prize for Year 2. Well done Lucia, all your friends were so happy for you winning the big prize. Happy Halloween everyone!
Year 4 have had a fantastic Halloween Day. We started the morning with some party games in the hall, before we moved outside to take part in a halloween themed hunt. Whilst we warmed back up, we wrote some spooky poems. This afternoon, we enjoyed treats while watching a movie. What a great day!
Nursery and Reception have had an amazing day celebrating Halloween. We’ve been trick or treating on a special Halloween hunt, decorated biscuits as ghosts and pumpkins, made spooky lanterns and had a fantastic Halloween party.
We’ve had so much fun but we’re definitely ready for our half term holidays now!
Happy Halloween!
Over the last few weeks, the children in Year 5 have shown great skill by making their own Anglo-Saxon helmets. They really enjoyed exploring the use of paper mache to make these and they had fun trying out their helmets yesterday.
I think they look really scary!
The scaring and the fun continued today too with our spooky Halloween activity day. It was a great end to our first half term.
