EYFS have enjoyed learning about Diwali!
EYFS have enjoyed learning the skeleton dance this week!
Today we welcomed our grown ups into our classroom and enjoyed completing Harvest activities together and showing them our learning so far this term. It was a lovely morning!
Nursery had a fantastic first day!
This morning, Nursery invited the children’s families along to participate in a morning of fun sporting activities! The children loved exploring all the equipment and were very active. Huge thank you to all the adults who were “encouraged” to join in the parents race. Such a shame there are no photos of the teachers taking part in their sack race! 😀
Yesterday was “National Thank a Teacher Day” so Nursery wanted to give a small token of appreciation to everyone who helps to shape their education. They went on a hunt around the school delivering cupcakes to say thank you!

This week, Nursery have loved sharing the story of “Starry-Eyed Stan”. At the end of the story, Stan sets up his own singing school so we couldn’t resist making some musical instruments.
The children used the junk modelling resources to either make a drum, guitar or shaker. We investigated the different sounds they made and how they made a sound by tapping, shaking or strumming.
In one of our books we spotted a porthole the characters were looking through. The children showed a strong interest in coming up with own ideas of what they might see if they looked through one so we decided to make our own. We decorated them before taking them around school to see what we could see.
It was lovely to hear the children extending their descriptive language.
“I can see a tall tree.”
“I can see a big field next to the farm.”
“I can see a noisy seagull.”
“I can see a rainbow tree behind Mrs Hanratty.”
EYFS had a great time investigating what happens to chocolate when it warms up. We added some shredded wheat to the melted chocolate and counted out three little “eggs” to put in our nests.
EYFS thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the Spring Time animals with Rob from Zoo Lab. We learnt all about animal hibernation and even got to hold all of the animals.
