EYFS have been celebrating Diwali! We’ve made lanterns, diya lamps and created our own mehndi patterns too!
We loved learning about the festival of light.

We have had a brilliant week creating spooky mummies, exploring our amazing pumpkins and making spooky spells!
This morning, the EYFS children had a fantastic time completing our sponsored toddle to Cornthwaite Park. The staff were very proud of how sensible the children were! We loved spotting all local sights and seeing signs and numbers all around us 😊
I think there will be lots of sleepy heads tonight!
In Nursery, one of our favourite activities is “Squiggle While You Wiggle”.
Squiggle While You Wiggle is a kinaesthetic approach to stimulate early writing. Children use movement with music to develop their motor skills in preparation for writing.
Check out our latest spooky squiggle where we use lines and circles to make skeletons. It was so much fun some children wanted to do it twice!
This week we are learning about Harvest in EYFS. As part of our topic, we have been baking bread. We looked at the ingredients together and talked about the equipment that we needed. The best part was definitely tasting it!
We’ve had a wonderful day in EYFS celebrating ‘Bring Your Grandparent To School Day’. We had so much fun doing lots of arts and crafts, decorating yummy biscuits and showing everyone our lovely classrooms. We can’t wait to do it again very soon!
We have been learning about the Jewish celebration of Sukkot. To celebrate, we each made a special plate to give to a friend and then had a special EYFS picnic.
EYFS have enjoyed read the tale of “The Rainbow Fish” and we loved his shiny, colourful scales. We made a list of all the colours we could see.
The EYFS staff were super impressed with their lovely writing and mark marking!

The EYFS children (and staff) have had so much fun this week exploring and learning. They have loved sharing their Parent Partnership homework with their friends and we now know lots about each other.
Our story of the week has been the Colour Monster and we have talked about when we feel happy or sad. We even made our own Colour Monsters using collage.
Here are some pictures of all the fun we have had!
