”The best school day ever” is how Cory described our second trip to Beach School. The children had so much fun rock pooling and found a whole variety of sea creatures including crabs, starfish and sea anemones.

You can find the music below to practise for your assembly Year 6 🙂
On Thursday, Y4 took part in their first Beach School lesson. Using sticks, they marked the waterline. By the end of the lesson, they saw how far the tide had came in because the first stick was well underwater and the second stick was only just visible! The children worked brilliantly as a team to build shelters (although one shelter didn’t quite make it to the end of the lesson but Mrs Wilson doesn’t want to talk about that!). Using information cards, the children took part in a beach scavenger hunt and found lots of interesting rocks, sea creatures and seaweed. Sandra, the beach school teacher, was so helpful identifying the fantastic finds! Finally, because the water was so calm the children were able to skim stones which was a real hit with everyone! The children can’t wait to go back this week!

Wow! What a day! Year 6 got to try Archery, Indoor Climbing and Bell Boating during our visit to Sunderland Adventure today. The children were so brave and all of them tried all of the activities at their level. A warm bath and an early night needed all round!

Year 3 have been measuring perimeter around school.
Year 3 and 4 thoroughly enjoyed Sports Day!
Year 3 have designed and built their own shelters inspired by the Stone Age.
Year 3 are currently reading the Tin Forest in English lessons and the old man in the story made a wish by the moonlight. His wished for his forest to come to life.
Year 3 thought long and hard about their own wishes and wrote these onto paper. They then placed each wish into the wish jar and hoped for their wish to come true.
On Friday, we took part in NSPCC Rocks during Number Day. The competition was fierce but Year 6 came out overall winners at the end of the day. Here are the three most valuable players from each class. Congratulations!
