This morning, Y4 have been creating their own trailers for our class text ‘The Dark’. We found images (that creators are happy for us to use), edited them and then added them to the trailer. We used the scripts that we had written earlier in the week to tempt people to pick up a copy and discover just why the dark pays Laszlo a visit……..

Today, three members of year 3 had the opportunity to take part in a workshop at the Town Hall to introduce them to the concept of democracy.
They listened to a story about an island and then had to decide who would be the best leader. They visited the Mayors chambers and met the Mayor. They listened to the debate from the two candidates and had the chance to cast their vote and took part in an election.
“I think it was a fun experience and I liked the chambers!” – Isaac
“The best thing was probably when I voted and I saw the Mayor because she is so nice.” –Rosie
“It was an amazing experience!” – Ellie
Year 4 began to apply their knowledge of fractions to some real life problems. The big question was which table to choose to try and get the most chocolate? The problem was made even trickier because some tables had one bar chocolate whilst others had 2 or 3. We kept taking a pause to work out how much chocolate each person was getting to try and help others make a wise choice. Once everyone had chosen, we worked out the final share.
Since everyone had worked so hard, we decided to actually enjoy some of the chocolate. But not before we worked out how many pieces we would get each!
Everyone loved coming together to see all the fantastic costumes to celebrate World Book Day. Even the staff got involved and dressed up as the characters from the book Peter Pan.
Year 6 got a surprise delivery this afternoon! Don’t they look great!
This afternoon Year Six took part in a science session led by Neil from Big Science. We learned all about the heart and its functions in a very practical way! We used forceps and seekers to explore the parts of the heart and found out how blood travels through this very special organ!
