To finish our science topic of plant reproduction, Year 5 started an experiment to see if we could grow plants from different parts of a parent plant. We dissected the plant and replanted the roots in one pot and the stem in another. Over the next 6 weeks, we will measure the plants to check for growth.
- Huge congratulations to our amazing Y5/6 girls who finished fourth in the South Tyneside Champions League, going through whole afternoon unbeaten!

Having completed their SATs last week, Y6 enjoyed a week of activities in and out of school. We have been busy crafting, enjoying a movie in our PJs and we finished the week with a trip to the park and an ice cream.
Congratulations Yellow House!
This week, Year 5 have been learning all about staying safe while cycling.
The children have been excellent listeners and put into practice their new skills around the local area.
To link in with their Ancient Egypt topic, Y3 made canopic jars in DT using disposable cups.
They added their own hieroglyphics to give them an authentic feel.
It has been an extra busy week in Y6 with the arrival of SATs week. Our children were simply amazing – staying calm and focused and showing exactly what they could do! We are all so proud of them.
A big thank you to all of the staff who moved rooms, moved timetables and came and supported us even when they weren’t meant to be in work! The children were fuelled for their tests by the amazing Janice who provided quite the feast every morning.
We celebrated the end of of the tests with a morning of swimming and bowling before we had a picnic lunch and some fun in the park.
This morning, Year 3 started our money topic in Maths by investigating the different notes and coins that we can use in England. We then used our addition knowledge to work out different amounts of money in pounds and pence 💷🪙
Enjoying a McDonald’s together before our last stop: home!
So much to see!
