Year 5 had a brilliant day yesterday at The Word working on Lego We Do and Scratch. The children had a wonderful time. Well done Year 5!
Year 6 had a fantastic visit to High Force to see the features of a river as part of their geography learning this term.
This afternoon, Year Five investigated how to separate mixtures. We used sieving, magnetism and filtration to separate a mixture of water, rocks, paper clips and water.

Year 6 were very keen to ‘taste’ a selection of new books at our book tasting event.
It was great to see everyone engrossed in their reading and sharing their thoughts about the books.
Last week Year 5 had a brilliant time visiting the Hindu Temple in Newcastle.
Year 6 have been learning ‘The Tyger’ by William Blake. We put our own actions to it and performed it outside.
We think it is terrific!

As part of our PE curriculum, we organised a special ‘Dance Week’ to extend and enhance our dance knowledge and skills. Each class had a different theme, linked to their curriculum, and we worked individually, in pairs and in small groups to create and perform our own dance routines.
Year 6 had a very informative afternoon at the community fire station -finding out about safety around electricity, water, cooking and the metro – at the RAP ( reducing accidents at play) event.
