Y5/6 children were given 30 places to take part in a fun run in the lead up to The Great North Run.
The children ran a mile along the coast and represented the school fabulously. They even had the opportunity to meet Bionic from Gladiators!
Please enjoy watching the memories the previous Year 4 children made during their time at Beach School!
What can we say about Year 6? They have amazing throughout their learning journey at Marsden, fully embracing the motto of “Everyone Cares, Everyone Matters”.
On Wednesday, they gave us a spectacular performance during their leavers’ assembly. We laughed, cried and shared A LOT of fond memories.
Congratulations to our award winners this year:
The Mrs Payne Award went to Sonny. He has been a beaming ray of sunshine from the moment he stepped through the nursery doors on his first day. He has matured into a remarkable young boy who will continue to shine wherever he goes.
The Deputy Headteacher Award went to Ruby-Lou. Her dedication and hard-work has been noted throughout her time at Marsden and she has been an excellent role model to her peers.
The Headteacher Award went to Aimee-Rose. Throughout her time at Marsden, Aimee-Rose has utilized lots of opportunities to take on extra responsibilities from being a lunchtime buddy to singing solos in the school choir. We are so proud of the mature girl she has become and know she will thrive at secondary school.
Well done to our football teams who both had excellent seasons.
Year 6,
As you stand at the edge of an exciting new adventure, take a moment to look back at how far you’ve come. You’ve grown, learned, laughed, and shown incredible strength. Primary school has been your first big chapter—and now, you’re ready to turn the page.
Secondary school will bring new challenges, new friends, and new opportunities to shine even brighter. Sometimes you’ll feel nervous, and that’s okay. Every great journey begins with a little courage and a lot of heart.
Remember this:
You are capable.
You are unique.
And you are ready.
Be kind. Be curious. Be brave.
And never forget—you’ve already proven you can achieve amazing things.
Now go out there and show the world who you are.
Year started their final day at Marsden with the tradition of meeting up at the windmill and walking down together. They arrived at school and shared breakfast together. Thank you to the kitchen staff for making this possible.
A great start to the day!

This term also saw a record number of people with 100% attendance. We also had some people manage to have 100% all year!!
Wow, what a year!!!
Year 5 (now Year 6) had a groovy last day together. I want to thank each and everyone one of them for their hard work, all the laughter and for giving me the best start to teaching Year 5.
You really are a special class who I know what make a tremendous Year 6 class! ❤️
Today, the Year 5 classroom turned itself into an Italian kitchen as we put our recipes to the test. Everybody made spaghetti bolognese but some groups added in different vegetables and we even had someone make a vegetarian version! I was very impressed at how well the children followed the health and safety rules regarding raw meat and personal hygiene.
Our new Year 5 children have had a fabulous couple of days in their new classroom; we’ve worked and danced our way through the days.
Day one involved playing get-to-know you games, doing some times tables practise, creating personalised hoodies and even competing in a Year 5 blooket quiz.
Day two saw us making our own self portraits, getting our first ukulele lesson and playing times table parachute! Of course we had to play a few extra games as well
We are going to have a great year together!
Nursery had a lovely morning taking part in lots of sporting events followed by some water fun. Y5 loved spending time with the children who they will be buddying next year.
